My name is Steve Bird. I am the owner of the Outdoor Garden. My passion for growing started when I was at Utah State in the Horticulture program. I quickly realized that the greenhouse classes were my favorites and knew that I would someday build my own greenhouse. My parents were kind enough to let me build a greenhouse in their back field not realizing what this was going to lead to ;)  Our journey began in early spring of 2010 when I started to build the first greenhouse. It sat out in the middle of the pasture with nothing surrounding it. We ran utility lines right through my parents yard. (But did an awesome job at repairing the damage :) Our first crop was planted in the winter of 2011 and lets just say that was a good practice round. In the fall of 2011 we geared up to kick off our first real season as a business in the spring of 2012.  At the time I was working full time in the Landscaping industry. We were only open by appointment and slowly were getting our name out by word of mouth and ksl classifieds. We quickly realized that we needed more space and added an additional outside area. In 2013 we continued to grow and decided to add two more sections for growing outside. 

The business has continued to grow and develop since that time to reach and meet the needs of customers. One greenhouse became two and two became more with time. Soon we outgrew our backyard space and had the opportunity to take on a much bigger location for plant production as we continue to sell in our peaceful tucked away Farr West location.
